15-Aug-2005 -- It was 11 a.m. when we reached the confluence 1S 36E on 15 August. The idea to go for a Confluence in Kenya came up when we planned our holidays months ago.

On our third day in Kenya, we took off for a three days' trip to Masai Mara National Park. Early in the morning we left Nairobi and took the road no. B3 towards West. Before we reached the village called Seyabel, we left the main road hitting north, the Confluence just in front of us. But there was no road. We used tracks which partly seemed to be dry river beds. At least, after app. 1.5 hour, we were able to get as close as 480 m to the Confluence. The last ½ km we had to find our way on foot through the primeval forest.

All of us did their first Confluence in Africa. After securing the site of the Confluence in the "black box", we had a picnic and continued our trip to the Masai Mara Park. Just share some of the impressions we picked up.

Another confluence (3S 38E) should follow a couple of days later when we went southeast to complete the Big Five.
