31-Jan-2007 -- After leaving Tamworth and of course having our picture taken next to the big golden guitar we drove West towards Moore Creek. Thanks to David Thompson who did this confluence before I had good directions that I could follow and I think I came to the very same place he talked about in his own account of this confluence victory.

There were a few barb wire fences to cross, every good confluence has at least one. I lost count of the number of fences I've jumped since I started this hobby less than two years ago but I'm sure it's more than I've done in the previous 36 years of my life.

There was a horse grazing at the start of my walk but he wasn't interested in me. The terrain getting there sloped gently and the prickles stuck on me not so gently. The ground was very rocky and there were a few dead trees and branches to go around but nothing serious. I took the usual pictures and headed back to the car, startling the horse who had forgotten all about me it seems.

The whole thing was wrapped up in no more than half an hour. Driving back we could enjoy the mountains, which surround this confluence. Many of them have a rocky bare rocky top, resembling old balding men crouching. Tamworth is the National Capital of country music and we missed the big festival by less than two weeks. This year they had 50 000 visitors and that doubles the population of Tamworth and its surrounding towns. I'm sure our next destination, 30S 151E, will be more quiet.
