25-Mar-2007 -- Driving to Atlanta again, second weekend in a row, left early enough to visit another point. Another beautiful Sunday in the South. I was coming from the west, so I took I-20 to exit 11 in Georgia, US-27 north to US-278 east to Braswell Road. Others have parked a little further down the road, but I parked next to the railroad tracks directly across from the garage. There is about a 1-1/2 foot drop there, so don't do that unless you've got 4-wheel drive.
There were not any "Posted" signs anywhere, so I headed straight to the train tracks about 15 meters away. The ATV trail was visible on the other side of the tracks. I followed the trail about 300 meters and found the CP easily. Like others before me, I also had trouble getting WAAS, so my accuracy was only 75 feet, but I got all zeros just the same. On the way back, I had to wait for a passing train, so I had an opportunity to wave at another train engineer. I sure do envy those folks...
