06-Jul-2008 -- I was in the Atlanta area for a family gathering with my three sons and their families for the Fourth of July holiday so took advantage of the opportunity to visit 34N85W. The confluence is about 20 miles west of my son’s house in Marietta. We parked on Braswell Mountain Road just west of the intersection with Knox Mountain Road. Having the benefit of reports from earlier visits, I walked a short distance west along Braswell Mountain Road to a small break in the trees/shrubs on the south side. That provided easy access to the tracks and the fire road/ATV trail on the other side. It was an easy walk on the road (photo #5) to within 20 yards or so of the confluence (photo #2 to the north). The forest is of moderate density as seen in photos 1 to the east, 3 to the west and 4 to the south. Although there was significant tree cover, I had only a little difficulty in getting all zeros on my GPSr.
