Back again in United States for business purpose, this time on New York City. Before my flight, I analyzed which confluence to visit and saw that N 41° W 74° was pretty close in New Jersey state but I should do a hike thru a forest and make some exploration of the area to avoid Hackensack River nothing difficult, but on this weather temperature I would refer just a short hike if it is possible like N 42° W 74° that despite it is far from NYC, I will only need to hike just 60 mt to reach CP.

In the morning of the day 25-Nov-2007, Eduard Molna my wife’s cousin who lives in NYC, picked us up with his car by our hotel after breakfast in order to go to CP N 42° W 74°. In order to leave Manhattan we crossed Harlem River by Triborough Bridge and took the I-87 freeway towards the north. Ahead we crossed Hudson River and we continued by the I-87 towards the west and soon to the north and at Newburgh town we made a stop for lunch.

Now with energy recharged, we continued by the I-87 towards the north and exit to highway 28 west and soon we took Clayton Bates Memorial Freeway towards north and later Sawkill Road also to north and after an interception we turned to the right on country road 31. We passed over I-87 and arrived to Leggs Mill Road where we stopped in front of the confluence at just 60 mts.

Eduard and my wife decided to wait for me in the car while I hike to the exact point due to the temperature was about 44 °F and windy but fortunately sunny, so I evaluate the site to initiate my approach to the CP. I identified the dry zone and beginning a short walk through vegetation about 1 mt tall. After few minutes I was already making the Confluence Dance and when I am going to take GPS picture, I discovered that I had left my camera in the car. I did signs to Eduard, jump and shout him but without success because they were inside the car enjoying the heating. I returned to the car for my camera and this time Eduard was decided to hike with me to the PC. In few minutes we were doing the Confluence Dance, them we took the required pictures.

This confluence it is located at 53 masl in a land which is for sale, so if any confluence hunter wishes to have his own confluence, it one it is available. In our way back to NYC, we found another kind of hunter, this one kills innocent deers.

Nuevamente de regreso en los Estados Unidos en un viaje de negocios, esta vez a la ciudad de New York. Antes del viaje me puse analizar cuales confluencias están cerca y veo que N 41° W 74° está muy cerca en el estado de New Jersey, pero debo hacer una caminata regular dentro de un bosque y dar vueltas para esquivar el río Hackensack cosa nada difícil pero con la temperatura baja no es muy agradable, mientras que N 42° W 74° a pesar de que está mas lejos, su acceso es muy fácil solo requiriendo caminar por un terreno unos 60 mts desde la carretera.

En la mañana del día 25-Nov-2007, Eduard Molina quien es primo de mi esposa y vive en New York nos pasó buscando con su vehiculo por el hotel temprano después del desayuno, con el fin de llevarnos a nuestro primer objetivo del día, la confluencia N 42° W 74°. Para salir de Manhattan cruzamos el puente Triborough sobre el río Harlem y tomamos la autopista I-87 hacia el norte. Mas adelante cruzamos el río Hudson y continuamos por la I-87 hacia el oeste y luego al norte, deteniéndonos en la población de Newburgh para almorzar.

Ya con la energía cargada, continuamos por la I-87 hacia el norte y nos salimos en la carretera 28 para luego tomar la autopista Clayton Bates Memorial hacia el norte y después la carretera Sawkill también al norte y luego de una intercepción giramos a la derecha por la rural 31. Pasamos por encima de la I-87 y llegamos la carretera Leggs Mill donde nos detuvimos frente a la confluencia a solo 60 mts.

Eduard y mi esposa deciden permanecer en el carro mientras yo llegaba al punto exacto ya que la temperatura era unos 6 °C y hacia bastante viento. Sin embargo, el día estaba bien asoleado y me pongo a evaluar el terrero para iniciar mi aproximación al PC. Identifico la zona seca y comienzo la caminata a través de vegetación, la cual tenía algo más de 1 mt de altura. Luego de pocos minutos estaba ya haciendo la Danza de la Confluencia y cuando voy a fotografiar el GPS descubro que había dejado mi cámara en el carro. Le hago señas a Eduard, grito, salto pero no logro que me vean ya que estaban con los vidrios cerrados disfrutando de la calefacción. Regreso al carro a buscar la cámara y esta vez Eduard se animó a acompañarme hasta el PC, realizo nuevamente la Danza de la Confluencia y tomo las fotos de rigor.

Esta confluencia está ubicada a 53 msnm en un terreno el cual se encuentra en venta, asi que si algún cazador de confluencia desea tener su propia confluencia, podria adquir ésta. En nuestra via de regreso a la ciudad de New York, nos topamos con otro tipo de cazador, uno que mata venados inocentes.
