Confluence hunting – the best cure for jet lag

I came near this confluence point around 7.30 am but it was raining rather hard, so I went on and hunted for 39N-79W in West Virginia. On the way back toward Washington DC, the rain became a drizzle, and I was able to visit this point without getting soaking wet.

The Google Map provided direction to within 0.5 km from this confluence point which was very helpful. Between the Navigator GPS of the car and Google Map, it pretty much took away all the guess work of line hunting in the US.

The last part of the kilometer of the road (Lakeview Drive) was marked as private road and posted no trespassing but the gate was open so I drove in and reached an unoccupied house about 460 meters from the confluence point.

The first half of the approach by foot was crossing a wet grass field and the second half was in a forest with half the trees have been cut down recently. I found the confluence point right next to a muddy logging trail, and most the trees nearby are down. Looks like this area is getting developed. The wet and broken forest was not the most inspiriting sight.

I reached this point about 1 pm, and got back to DC around 2.30 pm. Two confluence points in 8 hours.
