10-May-2009 -- For some time I've been fascinated by this confluence point, as it's at a high elevation, yet close to roads. While en route to Salt Lake City from Moab, I passed the small town of Soldier Summit, and decided to give this point a try.
Unfortunately, though, I was too early in the year. I took the road from Soldier Summit - running beside the Right Fork of the White River - but when I got up to about 8700 feet elevation, I found the road blocked by snow and a downed tree. This was still 2.1 miles (as the crow flies) from the confluence point.
