28-Aug-2009 -- Although this confluence point is located in the middle of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, near Mount Saint Helens, it's quite easy to reach, because a forest road takes you just 60 feet away.
From Portland, I took I-84 East, and crossed the Columbia River at Cascade Locks (the "Bridge of the Gods"), and then took Wind River Road north to NF-31, then NF-3107, then (narrow, overgrown) NF-115, which took me almost exactly to the confluence point, which lay amongst several downed trees.
