25-Sep-2009 -- Continued from 53°N 4W°.

We spent four weeks in the United Kingdom visiting cousins. As well, we managed to visit eight confluence sites to add to those we've visited back home in Canada and some in the United States. This is the eighth of eight visits in the UK.

It was another warm sunny day. The Autumn colours were beautiful. We were out for an ancestral exploration drive with my cousins. They opted to wait in their car while we found this confluence so it was done a little more hastily than usual.

We parked off the highway on the edge of a farm track. The track led off into a field where a farmer was working. Alan talked to "Charlie", who had been in the tractor and he gave us permission to walk on his land. Alan followed the GPS and found the confluence on the Prime Meridian in an adjacent field. As he was zeroing the GPS, a train on the Bluebell Railway tooted its horn. The Bluebell Rail station is very near the confluence.

While Alan was in the field, a young man on an ATV drove up to ask him what he was doing. When he explained to him what he was searching for and said that Charlie had given him permission to be there, he was content and drove off.

In the trees along the field we saw rabbits and a Partridge. We noted that the freshly cultivated fields near the confluence had conservation strips for wildlife around the perimeter as had the one up at N53° W1° near Lowdham.

We then drove off with my cousins to see family ancestral haunts in the area.
