11-Aug-2010 -- Another point that I have been to only once before nearly 8 1/2 years ago. Seems hard to believe that time can pass so quickly....
Having left behind 52N-02W, it is a pleasant enough drive across country and into the area where this point is. I pull off up a lane and park by the village cricket green. Doesn't get more quintessentially British than this.
Back down to the road and turn right. I then cut into a field and stick to the edge as the herd of cows seem very interested in me, right round the edge and back out into another road. I could have continued walking and simply turned right.
Walk up the road and then into another field, there is a thick hedge/thicket between me and the field with the CP in. There are a number of stiles over the fence but no way through. Carry on walking around the field edge and come to the gate!
I know that the CP is right by the only tree in the field so it's simply a matter of heading straight for it. When I was here last time my trusty old eTrex suggested the tree was right on the spot. This time though with my GPsMap76Csx it is several yards away.
Shoot of the required photo's, enjoy the warm summer evening sunshine and then back to the car. Just as I arrive back to my parking spot, the local team turned up to play cricket. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to stay and watch. Maybe next time.
Last one for today, if I get an early start tomorrow then I can fit in 52N-04W before going to my appointment.
