14-Oct-2011 -- I had thought about and did some serious planning for a repeat visit to 57N-03W, after all it has been five years... At this time of year it should be "interesting" underfoot, however after explaining it I seemed to be the only one who was up for it...can't think why!

It is the our last day here and so I planned to get up early and crack this one off before breakfast. You understand though that breakfast while on holiday is any time between 10 and 11...

I asked for any volunteers and Carl put his hand up as it were, no one else was up for it. It would give us a chance to have a chat - though I think Carl almost had a heart attack at one question I slipped into the conversation, hey I'm a Dad ok? - as it was 90 minutes each way - even if you drove at a steady 90.

Drive up to High Banton, park up and get the wet ground footwear on. Stroll off to the gate into the fields and notice that this time the stream actually has some water in it, unlike my last visit of a year or so ago.

I give Carl the GPS, and I explain that the last two times I have been here the field has been full of either cows & their calves,young bulls or sheep, rams & ewes. This time? Absolutely nothing!

Climb the hill to the point and I explained to Carl about the last time I was here and the "new life", it might have survived, hard to tell from this photo. I do know however it is really quite wet underfoot.

Document the visit, back to the car, stop for coffee on the way back, then back to the cottage for another cooked breakfast.
