16-Mar-2012 -- Winter in Norway, we enjoy it so much! On our journey we combine searching for confluences and a Nordic skiing tour in the Peer-Gynt Ski Region this year. Arriving Oslo by car is easy and comfortable. Just hop on the Color Line ferry in Kiel and 20 hours later you are already there. In the meantime you can start relaxing with good food, lots of entertainment and buy all the things you might have forgotten. We had to buy cap und gloves, because Hamburg had been so warm for the last days that the need for that outfit was too far off the actual remembrance. The trip by car after arrival was smooth. Norway is always nice to drive. But you have to keep in mind that in general 60 kilometers is the average distance you can cover in an hour due to lots of curves and narrow parts even on the E6.

Our first confluence was somehow a drive in point. It is located near a field, first we thought right at the border to a fenced in, garden like field belonging to a house right at the street we had driven by. There is so little snow already, lots of it just melted away in the first warm days beginning of March, that we decided not to put on our snow shoes or skies but to walk to the confluence in our walking boots. It worked out quite well, besides little snow in the shoes when you sink into the snow entering a little pile of it, but one could follow the others' foot tracks. Reception for the GPS was excellent and showed us easily that we missed the exact point by 4 seconds to the longitude standing on the farmland side of the fence. Since we didn’t want to enter private property without permission, we decided to leave it as it is, almost there and with a good impression on how the landscape looks like in early spring.
