09-Jul-2013 -- My wife and I were heading North from Oslo to Savalen and Kolbotn, the home of the Norwegian (dark and often depressing) poet Arne Garborg and his lively and creative wife Hulda who rejuvenated Norwegian folklore. They lived there in the wilderness for ten years about 130 years ago. For old people this is a couple and a place we heard about in school, a part of our cultural heritage.

A quick glance at the map indicated that N61E010 could be visited without too much efforts. Chasing confluence points can also help getting to know your own country better.

But it was too easy a visit. Nobody seemed to be at home in the farm house, the grass was high and we decided to take our photos from the road side, about 20 m from the confluence point. And then we headed towards Savalen with a stop at Alvdal where we visited the Aukrust centre built over another writer's characters, characters that display warm humour and heart touching feelings.
