05-Июля-2012 – Это 3-й рассказ из 8 об автопутешествии в Центральной Азии, которое началось от 55°N 90°E.

После удачного посещения пересечения 52°N 94°E, получения пропусков в погранзону (заранее заказали), знакомства с городом Кызыл и уникальными экспонатами Национального музея республики Тыва, в том числе с экспозицией «Золото скифов», мы посетили географический центр Азии. Эта гипотетическая точка обозначена обелиском «Центр Азии», установленным на берегу Енисея в центральной части города Кызыл в 1964 году. Он был выполнен из бетона и имел весьма скромный вид. В 1984 году в честь 40-ой годовщины Советской Тувы обелиск подняли на подиум и облицевали гранитом. Тогда же расчистили и благоустроили прилегающую к обелиску территорию сквера, сделали береговую смотровую площадку и лестничный спуск к реке.

Во второй половине дня мы отправились на юг, к границе с Монголией, для открытия пересечения 50°N 96°E и знакомства с красотами озера Торе-Холь, расположенного в зоне Убсунурской котловины – наиболее экологически чистого места на планете.

05-Jul-2012 – This is the 3rd story out of 8 sites we reached on an automobile trip to Russian Central Asia. The narrative of the trip starts from 55°N 90°E.

After we had successfully visited the confluence 52°N 94°E, we got the permit to enter the state frontier zone (we ordered it preliminary), made acquaintance with Kyzyl city as well as the unique exhibits of the National Museum of Tyva Republic, including the exposition “The Scythians’ gold”. There we finally reached the geographical center of Asia. This hypothetical geographical point was marked by the obelisk “Center of Asia”. It was maintained on the bank of Yenisey river in the center of Kyzyl in 1964. It is made of concrete and looked rather modest from the outside. In 1984 in honor of the fortieth anniversary of Soviet Tyva the obelisk was lifted up to a platform and faced with granite. At that time the adjoining territory of public garden was cleared and beautified, an observation desk and ladder to the river were constructed.

In the afternoon we moved to the south for the border with Mongolia and the confluence 50°N 96°E in order to have a look at fascinating Tore-Khol' lake located in the area of Uvs Nuur basin – the most ecologically pure place on the Earth.
