03-Nov-2012 -- The story continues from 43°S 146°E.

I continued my bicycle trip through the highlands of Tasmania, took a ferry to Melbourne and stayed in Melbourne with my cousin in law.

We visited the confluence as a day trip from Melbourne City by car. We took the Motorway A1, then county roads C426 and C425 to Neerim South and parked our vehicle at a distance of 532 m from the confluence point. It is possible to reach the point by car, but we enjoyed the little hike following the small road with almost no traffic. On our way, we saw an echidna.

The confluence is only 14 m from the road in the forest right at the edge of a fenced compound. The forest is mainly Eucalyptus, but mixed with several other tree species.

After the visit of the confluence, we continued hiking upwards until we reached open land. On our drive back, we took little roads via Powelltown and did also some hikes. It was a pleasant day and this confluence visit was a great excuse to go out and spend the day in nature.
