15-Jun-2013 -- This confluence visit is the first out of 4 visits that I made during a week-end in Magdeburg - 3 confluences and 1 friend, who celebrated his 50th birthday.
After work on Friday, I left Zurich by night train and arrived in Halle in the early morning. Due to the flood-waters, there were no trains to Magdeburg (the trains were stopped to avoid the risks at waterlogged bridges). A replacement bus brought me to Magdeburg station where my rental car was already waiting. Now I had a 40-minutes drive that ended at a tiny road between Schora and Güterglück.
I did not take the main road L51 that follows parallel to the train line, because I didn't want to cross the railroad tracks (in contrast to all other visitors). On the other side of the tracks, it was only possible to get within 650 m to the confluence point by car. But I covered the remaining distance with a pleasant walk between agricultural fields.
The confluence point is 20 m into a wheat field that will soon be harvested. But it was possible to reach the exact location without damaging any crops, because a track went right through the confluence point.
I returned to my rental car using the same route and prepared to visit the confluence 110 km further north - at this time, I didn't know how difficult this would be.
