15-Jun-2014 -- This is the last out of 3 reports reaching confluence points in Central France.
The story starts from 48°N 6°E.
After visiting 48°N 5°E, I stayed the night in the town Châtillon-sur-Seine, which is 45 km from this confluence point. I am sure that Châtillon-sur-Seine is generally a peaceful town, but in the early morning at 5 AM, I was woken up by a violent fight by drunken youngsters outside on the market square. It was so bad that one person had to be hospitalized. Distressed I started cycling that otherwise quiet morning.
Around 8 AM I reached the village
Bernon (1.7 km from CP). A county road misses the road by only 220 m, where I left my bicycle in the ditch and walked over a recently moan meadow with huge hay bales on it. Only overcoming the last 50 m where not straightforward. I had to climb through an overgrown canyon.
Most trees around the confluence are birch or hazelnut. There is also some undergrowth with moss, clover and various flowers.
The return way home was not quite as planned, because the employees of SNCF (the French train operator) were on an organized strike. Only some trains were running on that Sunday. I thought that all rental cars will be occupied on such a day and that I won’t get home. But at the end, my worries were without reason (actually all worries are useless). From Dijon I was able to hop on a train (overcrowded but at least running) and I got back home to Zurich that day.
