27-Jul-2016 -- After failing to reach the adjacent Degree Confluence Point 57N 25E earlier in the day, I was able to visit this easy point - on the north-western edge of Riga - in the late afternoon, before returning to central Riga, where I was staying the night.
From satellite imagery, I figured out that if I took a country road to 57.00019°N 24.00471°E, I’d probably find a path that led towards the point. Sure enough, when I arrived at those coordinates - about 300 m from the point - I found a path. I followed a series of paths from this point - following some very sandy paths used by dirt bikers - until I reached the point, which (as previous visitors had noted) was marked by a sign. Because the point is down the side of a tall sand bank, I hiked back up on top of the bank (just a few meters away) to take the directional photos.
