21-Aug-2017 -- I came out here with the idea to do this confluence point since this spot is unique due to the fact that there is a Geocache nearby and a benchmark to log... The reason for the trip!? It was to see the eclipse in Casper, Wyoming which was on 21 August 2017 the same day I hit this confluence point. The eclipse was the most awe inspiring thing I have ever seen!

My brother Andrew who got me into confluence hunting and geocaching was with me along with several family members, it was his idea to see the eclipse but is was my idea to do the confluence point. Andrew already hit a confluence point, his was 44°N 72°W (visit #6) I had hit one too, mine was 42°N 74°W (visit #12).

We left Casper, Wyoming and headed for the confluence point. It was not to hard to find as it was right there on the side of the road. I let my GPS settle in on all Zeros, I snapped the money shot and the traditional N-S-E-W pictures. I brought a marker I had made, although I did not leave it at the site this time as I learned my lesson from the first confluence point I hit.

It was a nice cool evening with the sun setting in the west. We left the site and headed off to Wall, South Dakota. I plan on doing more as soon as I can!
