14-Jan-2018 -- In 2010, my mother and I rode the famed Ghan - a passenger train that runs across the Australian continent from Adelaide to Darwin. Little did we realize at the time that we had visited this Degree Confluence Point, because it turns out that the railroad tracks pass within 100 m of the point.
Today I (re)visited this point by taking a turnoff off highway A1, just north of the town of Port Germein. This road took me about 100 m from the point. From there, I had to cross a fence, the railroad tracks, and another fence, before finding a path through low-growing, scrubby vegetation to reach the point.
Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
