14-Jan-2018 -- After visiting 33S 138E, I drove eastward, through the Telowie Gorge and Murray Town. I then made a short detour to get a drone’s-eye view of the Hornsdale Power Reserve - a bank of batteries recently built to assist the South Australian power grid. I then continued through the town of Peterborough and crossed the Barrier Highway.
About 5 km north of the point, there was an unlocked gate to a narrow doubletrack dirt road, that was (fortunately) OK for my 2WD rental car. Driving carefully down this road, I ended up about 400 m west of the Degree Confluence Point. From there it was an easy hike across thinly-vegetated ranch land to reach the point. A couple of kangaroos watched me (then hopped away) as I approached the point.
