26-Dec-2021 -- This is the first out of 2 confluence visits during a three-week trip to the Caribbean. We had been to 4 Islands: Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Dominica and St. Lucia. But I recommend to visit only one island at a time, because regulations against Covid-19 cause a bureaucratic nightmare, as every island has its own arbitrary rules. Hopefully, this will ease soon such that island hopping will become an option again.
During our stay on Puerto Rico we rented a car and visited its eastern part. On confluence day, we drove along the southern coast and hiked through some coastal nature parks.
In between two park visits we had a quick drive to the confluence. Navigation in the car brought us to the right address in the outskirts of the town Patillas. We parked 200 m from the spot and found the confluence point to be 34 m from the road. The GPS pointed directly into the gap between two villas. We searched for a door bell of the house where the confluence is located, but no such bell. Our shouting of “Hello, hello…” was ignored. Since we didn’t want trouble, we abstained from entering the private property.
This confluence is located at the backside of the house in the backyard.
The rest of the day we spent hiking and driving spending the night in Ponce, the second largest town of Puerto Rico.
