#1: The confluence point lies in scrubby vegetation, with small pine trees all around. (This is also a view to the East.)

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

23-Sep-2023 -- Leaving Montpellier (which seems like an exceptionally confusing city to drive in), I eventually ended up heading Northeast on a series of rustic country roads. The last (and longest) of these country roads passed less than 300m from the point, so I turned off there, and parked in a turnout. I knew (from satellite imagery, and the reports from previous visitors) that a gravel doubletrack path led towards the point, but at first I took the wrong path, and started walking too far North, past private property. I then found the correct path. Note for future visitors: Take the path that starts at [43.99906,4.00272], about 240m from the point.

This path ends up passing just 20m Northeast of the point, which lies in scrubby vegetation, with small pine trees nearby. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought that I was in the western US. (In fact, the point reminded me a little of [38,-109] in Colorado.)

Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
