03-Mar-2001 -- As all official Confluence Points in the Netherlands are ‘discovered’ yet, we decided to combine our visit at
the beginning of March to our friend Hans-Gerd Maas at Dresden with a hunt for the Point 51N14E. Sadly it is an unofficial
one, but that’s just a case of definition. Dresden is a beautiful city (check the rebuilding of the Frauwenkirche) and it
has some remarkable nature in the surrounding. On our way for a charming visit of the "Nationalpark
Saechsische Schweiz" we jumped out the car just north of the little village Lohmen at the crossing of the railway.
Some days before it has snowed, so the forest was beautiful and quite. There was a track heading from the road and our
Garmin GPS receiver lead us the way. It is a challenge to use the "GoTo" function properly, but finally we found
the right track. We were lucky, because The Point was more or less on the track. Even without "SA" the
GPS-coordinates will circle around and it was quiet difficult to get the magic 51.0000 and 14.0000 on the display.
Finally we made that, some pictures to prove were taken and that was it. No magic, just do it.
