12-May-2001 -- Fox Mountain, thick woods, steep terrain, soft earth. Rick and I were prepared for some tough hiking as we set out on this adventure. Studying the topos and aerial photos showed some trails in the area. The road leading to the mountain took us to within a quarter mile and what luck, there is a trail. Soon we are criss crossing with a compass to pinpoint the spot. Our first confluence and we have succeded. the pictures show how wooded it is and you may be able to tell how steep it was. We are hooked. We have to find another.
