29-Apr-2001 -- i read about the degree confluence project in c't a few months ago. the confluence 48N-15E is located near my home village, gresten. it took some time to find a free weekend with fine weather conditions, as i live in vienna and own a xt500.

the confluence is well known, official already installed a monument there. picture two shows the stone, its inscription reads: "at this point the 15th degree of longitude east of greenwich and the 48th parallel intersect. land surveying office of scheibbs, july 29, 1987". picture three shows a globe with the confluence and picture one shows the whole area, including my bike. :)

Note from the project: As shown in visit #1, the area photographed here is about 100 meters from the actual confluence.
