02-Jun-2001 -- This confluence is about a 45 minute drive and appears from the map to be within a few hundred meters of a road in a rural area.
I set out this morning on a cool sunny June day and drove down the closest road until the GPS showed the waypoint only 200 m but in the backyard of some houses.
I knocked on a door and presented the letter that I had downloaded from the web site. The resident granted me permission so I went of through open woodland and around a very pleasant little pond.
The land owners seemed to be landscaping the area and making some small ponds along the stream that ran through the spruce and balsam fir forest. There were lots of trails and the walking was easy.
I found the spot and photographed my hat with the GPS on top. It was an idyllic setting and when back on the south side of the pond, I took another picture of the confluence. This one is very easy but not exactly public.
