03-Aug-2001 -- My wife, Jackie, and I headed for 52N 10W at 10:00 early Friday morning. The point is roughly 80 miles from our home and passes through some of the most scenic areas in Southern Ireland - namely the Kerry region. We left Cork city on the N25 and picked up the N22 heading for Killarney. At Killarney we followed the signs for Killorglin and then on to Glenbeigh.

Heading out of Glenbeigh we took the first left which, according to the GPS was 2 miles from the confluence. We drove along a dirt road and ended up at a dead-end - well a field with a gate and a herd of cows...

We back tracked and asked a local resident if there was any way to drive to the lake, which is just below the conflunce. According to the map we had, and the information we got, we were able to drive to within 0.5 miles of the confluence. We parked the car and headed up the side of a hill (or very small mountain). It took us about 15 minutes to locate the exact spot and take a few pictures. We then just sat there and admired a very impressive spot.

We headed back the way we came and drove back to Cork, getting home for 18:00. A very enjoyable day out.
