01-Sep-2001 -- The confluence is located just outside of Jetmore Kansas. One of the nice things about southwest Kansas is that the farmers have a grid of dirt roads running north/south east/west evenly spaced about one mile apart. We took three dirt roads to get us close to our confluence. Walking about thirty feet south of the road we were able to find 38° N by 100° W at about 12:57pm on the afternoon of Saturday September 1st, 2001.

The area is typical of the great plains, flat for the most part with small hills to the east and west. The weather was warm and windy, as you can see from the flying hair in the excursion party photo! This new adventure was enjoyed by all and will be attempted again in the near future in a new part of the United States.
