19-May-2002 -- We see dawn in the proximities of Granada and the reflex of rising sun on The Alhambra illuminates the whole city of this reddish color that multiplies with the colors of the beautiful Arabic Palace, last residence of Arabics Kings of Granada.

Boabdil was defeated and expelled in the year 1492 and with tears in his eyes, he said good bye to Granada the most beautiful jewel of Arabic Andalusi Empire; 800 years of Arabic domination of Spain have finished.

Four centuries after a big writer and traveler visit Granada and he got a great love to the city writing “Tales of Alhambra” I am speaking about Washington Irving a New Yorker and lover of Granada.

We are going toward confluence point 37N-004W by W. Irving route and 60 km after very near Malaga border we meet Alhama de Granada, a beautiful and white Andalusian village with a deep canyon dug during centuries by Alhama river, we contemplate the big and beautiful Encarnacion church, and after walking along its narrow and deserted streets at these early hours even with few peoples.

Our GPS indicates us that Confluence Point it is to 1300 m only and across the narrow road to Ventas de Zafarraya and near a farmhouse placed to our left side, GPS sign the minimal distance of 360 m southen course to Confluence Point a great slope gets up before us, flanked of almod trees and a wheat field.

After walking 15 minutes we locate Confluence Point between centenary olive trees; we take GPS reads, Photos and Confluence Point 37N-004W was gotten. Now we are going to 37N-003W Confluence Point and if it is possible we shall try to get it with good luck.

19-May-2002 -- Nos amanece en las proximidades de Granada y el reflejo del Sol naciente sobre La Alhambra ilumina toda la ciudad de ese color rojizo que se multiplica con los colores del hermoso Palacio Arabe ultima residencia de los reyes moros de Granada.

Boabdil, ultimo rey moro de Granada fue expulsado y derrotado en 1492 y cuenta la historia que el rey lloro amargamente por perder la joya del Imperio Andalusi; 800 años de dominio arabe habian terminado en España.

Un ilustre viajero y escritor visito Granada y quedo prendado con la belleza que le rodeaba escribiendo sus Cuentos de la Alhambra estoy hablando de Washington Irving ,un neoyorkino enamorado de Granada.

Siguiendo la ruta de W. Irving nos dirigimos al sur hacia la confluencia 37N-004W y proximo a los confines de la provincia de Malaga nos encuentramos con Alhama de Granada; un hermoso y blanco pueblo andaluz, bordeado por el gran cañon que ha excavado el rio Alhama con el paso de los siglos y contemplamos la hermosa y colosal Iglesia de la Encarnacion, paseamos por sus calles aun a estas horas con poca gente.

El GPS me indica que el punto de confluencia esta a unos 1300 m.

Por una estrecha carretera que va a Ventas de Zafarraya nos dirigimos al punto y en las proximidades de un cortijo situado a nuestra izquierda el GPS marca la distancia minima 360 m al Sur hacia una empinada pendiente flanqueada de almendros y un campo de trigo , alli nos dirigimos y despues de caminar 15 minutos localizamos el punto entre olivos centenarios, tomamos las lecturas del GPS hacemos las fotos y el punto de confluencia 37N-004W ha sido conseguido.

Ahora nos dirigiremos al punto 37N-003W y trataremos de conseguirlo con buena suerte
