01-Jun-2003 -- I attempted to reach 33N 116W in the morning but found that the trail alluded to by the previous visitors had been washed away by recent heavy rains. I didn't have the equipment (backpack) to climb the mountain side. So to cut my losses I decided to go to the next one over. I read the narrative of the previous visitors to 33N 115W and found it quite easy to get to.
Just east of Glamis the highway gets as close to the confluence as 1.06 miles. I pulled off the highway and hiked the mile or so. It was an easy hike in the mid-100s. It took about five to six minutes to get the GPS settled on the point. Actually, the confluence was in the middle of a bunch of brush. I took a photo of the GPS as close as possible. I used UTM to acquire the precise easting and northing for 33N 115W. Once it was acquired (as close as possible, 2m southerly from the point) I took the two shots of the GPS. Easy confluence for my first visit. Third attempt at one.
