28-Dec-2000 -- I currently live in central New York, but I grew up in Kansas. My family was going back to the Midwest for the Christmas break visiting relatives and I thought it would be fun to visit a couple of confluences. 38N 94W is north and west of my inlaw's house in southern Missouri and it appeared to be fairly easy to reach being near a road (see aerial picture). We (Wes Groshong, my brother inlaw, Chad Groshong, Wes’s son, Justin, my older son, Eric, my younger son, and myself Jim Jackson) took off from my inlaw's house on Pomme de Terre lake and went west on 54 highway to El Dorado Springs and then went north on H highway to SW200. We went west on SW200 a short distance when the GPS indicated we were within 100 ft of the conflunence. We were right in front of someone's residence. It appeared that the confluence would be just over the fence in their front yard. The gate across the driveway was closed and it appeared that nobody was there. We decided to quickly step over the fence, find the confluence and take some pictures. Pic #2 shows us (from left, Eric, Wes, Jim, Justin and Chad in front of Wes) at the confluence with east at our back. Pic #3 is taken from the confluence looking north with Chad trying to get out of the picture and Wes’s van parked on the road. Pic #4 shows the residence to the south of the confluence and just to the right of the trailer is a pen with several goats in it. Pic #5 is to the east and Pic #1 is to the west.
