09-May-2004 -- It was the day after my birthday, and one of my presents was a digital camera, so it seemed like going to a confluence would be an excellent way to break it in.
Getting to the Eastern Shore from DC proved to be relatively easy on a Sunday, it was a rather warm day, but it being before Memorial Day, beach traffic was light. As we crossed the Bay Bridge, we noticed that it was also fairly balmy on the water, in addition to being quite hazy. Nevertheless, we saw many people out boating on the Chesapeake.
The confluence itself lay in some farmland hardly a few miles off Route 50, which is the main road to the beach, so it was really not difficult to find it at all. I am hoping that my next confluence will be in more difficult terrain to make something more of a challenge out of it. The most eventful thing for this trip was definitely the sighting of a field full of seagulls -- what a strange crop to be growing.
