14-Jul-2024 -- While in the Columbia Gorge region, I made a detour to revisit this scenic, forested Degree Confluence Point (that I had previously visited almost 15 years earlier), in order to get a drone’s-eye view of the point (and nearby Mount Saint Helens). From the Columbia River, I took the same route as before: Wind River Road north to NF-31, then NF-3107, then NF-115. I parked at [46.00043,-121.99634], just 0.18 miles ENE of the point, and hiked along an overgrown doubletrack road, which took me almost all the way to the point, which lies just within the forest.

At the point, I was surprised (and a bit saddened) to see that a large, permanent concrete marker (with metal signs attached) had been installed there. The signs reference the Degree Confluence Project (ignoring the fact that the project discourages leaving permanent markers). The names on the signs suggest that the marker was associated with the previous visit recorded by P Vecchio (in 2010).

This is another Degree Confluence Point where the drone’s-eye view from above the trees is more interesting than the view from the ground. In addition to Mount Saint Helens (to the Northwest), you can see Mount Rainier (to the North) and Mount Adams (to the East).
