12-Aug-2005 -- After revisiting the confluence at 38N-122W to get better pictures of the GPS, we headed East to this confluence. After a couple of detours to the Lockeford Sausage Company for some Apple Sausage and Jalapeno Sausage, and Joe’s Chili Peppers in Waterloo, we found the confluence driving south on North Escalon Bellota Road. Picture #6 is a look toward the confluence as we approached from the north. The other visitors to this confluence have noted the rundown state of the house across the street from the confluence. Someone has spray painted graffiti on the front of the house, and the garage door has been opened, and it is obvious that the place has been abandoned.
As for the confluence, I was able to find 38 North with no trouble, but in order to get 121 West to zero out, I had to lean over the fence. I didn’t really want to climb over the fence without permission, so I leaned over until the GPS zeroed out and I could get a picture (Picture #5). Jack had no issues with the fence or property rights, so he snuck into the field to pose for picture #7.
Pictures #1, 2, 3, and 4 are the views toward the east, west, north, and south respectively.
