31-Oct-2010 -- This confluence point is very easy to reach, being located on the edge of a rural road in San Joaquin County that follows the 121st meridian west. Driving along the Escalon-Bellota Road, approaching the confluence point from the south, I knew from prior reports to be on the look out for the isolated house and garage on the left hand side of the road. As the road passes over the brow of a hill and under some high voltage power lines, I spotted the house, easily recognizable from previous photographs. The location is just less than 8 km north of Farmington.

I parked on the verge 50 m past the house, and walked back to confirm my location and take photographs for evidence. The actual confluence point is located in the field opposite the house, a few meters beyond the fence line. In retrospect, I ought to have jumped the fence to get all zeros on the GPS, but at the time, obtaining a reading to within 0.1 seconds outweighed the risk of ripped clothing on the barbed wire.

Earlier visits to this confluence point noted how banal and unexciting this location is, and they are not wrong. The area is one of gently undulating farmland that lacks any interesting features in the immediate vicinity. Unlike other parts of the county, there are no orchards to be seen. The house seems to be in pretty much the same condition as has been reported in the last couple of visits, i.e., renovated but seemingly unoccupied. After less than five minutes, I had seen enough, walked back to the car, and left.
