28-Aug-2006 -- This might be one of the easiest CP’s in Scotland – nevertheless a beautiful place and worth a visit. After a side glance to the gorgeous scenery of Dunrobin Castle not far from the CP I took the single-track road northwest, passed Backies and parked the car just 400m east of 58N 4W.
A 15 minutes walk through the flowering heather, over two fences and across a rough pasture, curiously watched by some adolescent highland cattle, brought me to the place on the banks of the Golspie Burn. The weather was bracing, clouds alternated with sunny spots and the north-western wind carried a pleasant fragrance of honey over the hills. So it was a really enjoyable walk before lunchtime.
Back to the car at noon I started to feel out the northwest of Scotland, hopefully the weather would stay nice to visit 58N 5W the next day.
