We reached this confluence point on hiking-day #69 on our leg from Dornoch to Helmsdale. The total hike was 72 days and 2466 km on foot starting in Zurich, Switzerland. A summary of the trip can be found
here.
The confluence is located 4 km north of Golspie. When we came through this little coastal town, I had a desire to give this confluence point a visit. But this would have added another 8 km on our anyway long hiking day (40 km). So I did take an unusual step and took a taxi (cab) to the confluence point, starting at the central Café Bothy in Golspie. An elderly taxi driver took me within 400 m to the confluence, where he parked and waited for me while I was running down the river to take the pictures of the confluence point.
Ten minutes later I was back – unfortunately with wet shoes. Another 10 minutes later I was back on the hike. At
Dunrobin Castle, I caught up with my hiking companion Elionora.
