09-May-2007 -- Karl and myself had to go to Linz to work and I thought if we got an early start we could do this confluence before starting work.
A horrible day to drive very heavy rain all the way for the journey. Fortunately we knew it would be wet so we'd brought appropriate precautions with us.
My new car satellite navigation system makes the first part of CP hunting an absolute doddle (assuming that the maps are of good quality) unlike our recent Hungarian adventure! The Navi system took us directly to within about 200 metres of the CP. In actual fact we could have driven to within 103 metres by the side of the field.
Before leaving the car Karl changed into walking boots and I improvised my footwear again!
Another field of Rape but this time we were only a few metres from accomplishing the CP. At the edge of the field it seemed we could thread our way between the plants but after only about 7 metres in to the field this became impossible (see the picture towards the CP) the rape was very tall and now very dense so we could proceed no further. Took the required pictures with rain splashed camera, GPS and everything else! Then sloshed off back to the car and on to work.
