#1: Confluence in middle of picture

15-Feb-2008 -- This was my first repeat visit to a confluence, and not much seems to have changed from the first visit. It was Anthony's first visit to a Welsh confluence.

With the weather forecast being so good we had decided to climb Cnicht and Moelwyn Mawr and having visited this spot before I realised that it would only be a detour of a few metres to revisit the spot. The views were fantastic.

From the top of Cnicht - a distance of about 1.4km - the confluence is on the hump on the far shore of the lake, just about in the centre of the picture. Cardinal shots followed North, East, South showing Moelwyn Mawr - which was the next peak to be done and quite a slog, and West. The frozen lake shows that it was winter, but it was easily t-shirt and shorts weather. Finally the GPS.

It was sad to note that idiots on motorbikes still ride up here, and spoil the quietness and solitude of this place.
