25-Jul-2009 -- This week I took a break from work and went on a road trip with Michael, a good friend of mine who is a fellow grad student at UT Austin. The main destinations we visited were LA, Yosemite National Park, and Las Vegas. I knew there were several quick-to-reach confluences out West, but given our route and schedule, this is the only one that we attempted to locate.
We were already heading from Vegas to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and I recalled from the confluence.org website that there was a confluence point in Colorado City. Arriving at the point was trivial, it is a mere half block from the main highway. The fence that a previous visitor mentioned is still in disrepair, so doing the GPS dance to get all zeros was easy as well. While Michael stayed in the car, I went and got the pictures and we were on the road again within 3 or 4 minutes.
Coming back to the car I was greeted by a friendly woman dressed in the traditional FLDS garb.
