28-Apr-2012 -- On the way back from a nice trip to Winterswijk, Netherlands, I took the chance to visit the Confluence Point 52°N 7°E. Together with two others it was the most western CP I visited - up to now.
After a short drive we reached the city of Stadtlohn and soon the road named Dywing Dyk became narrower. Now, about 1 km after the city I took a junction to the right on a road named Russenstraße. After nearly 7 km I reached the Confluence Monument which was already described by former visitors. There I parked the car and checked the distance between the Monument and the CP: yes it was still a way of 210 m to go.
The first 100 meters were along the road that I came, direction north. Now the GPS lead me the last 170 meters though the trees of a coniferous forest and later a deciduous forest. The exact Confluence was quickly reached at 03:40 p.m. on the GPS-display. Caused by a light canopy of beeches the precision of signal was with 3 m very good. The weather was mild with a thin cloud cover.
The Confluence Point 52° North 7° East was an easy to reach location. The picture of the location was done at a distance of 50 m from direction southwest to the CP. The height about sea level was shown with 56 m.
