During this holiday trip through the south of Scandinavia it gave several opportunities to visit confluence points. The visit of the CP 54N-9E was the eighth in this row but not in Scandinavia anymore. It was the first of two CP-visits in Germay.
After visiting the "Seehundstation Friedrichskoog" we made a picnic at the nearby dike. There we found a small monument with a plate on it that says: "you are here at the 54th latitude". So I checked out if a confluence point is located near and indeed I found one in a distance of only eight kilometers beeline direction east. Soon we reached the aimed destination. It was an already harvested corn field. I parked the car at the footway near a house and after crossing the road I had to walk only 250 m to reach the exact point. Soon I stood at the CP 54N-9E and did the necessary pictures. It was about 01:00 pm. when the visit was done. The accuracy of distance was shown with 3 meters, no EGNOS in use. Interesting is that the Garmin shows a height of minus two meters. Google Earth shows as well -1 to -2 meters landwards. This low area is protected by two dikes, with a higher level between both.
So this very short-dated CP visit was successful finished. Now our trip continued direction south east to the CP 53N-11E.
