26-Jul-2015 -- This coming week, I’ll be on vacation driving through Austria - from Vienna west to Salzburg - and, of course, hope to visit several Degree Confluence Points en route. My first visit was to this easy point just east of Vienna; it lies just 200 m from a paved road.
Fortunately, no crop was growing in the field during my visit; I was able to walk straight to the point over the stalks from a recently harvested crop. I’m not sure what the crop was, but at the time of visit, corn was growing in adjacent fields.
This section of Austria (“Lower Austria”) is very flat; no hills were visible in any direction from the point. However, just to the south, several wind turbines from a large wind farm were visible.
