04-Feb-2017 -- Auf dem Weg zum Wintersport im Allgäu bot sich die Gelegenheit, den Konfluenzpunkt 48N-11E zu besuchen.

Nach dem Passieren des Ammersees am Nordufer auf der Autobahn A96 führte das GPS auf die Abfahrt nach Finning. Der gesamte Ort musste von Nord nach Süden durchfahren werden. Nach dem Überqueren der Landstraße LI 23 verhinderte nach ca. 1,3 km ein Schlagbaum die Weiterfahrt. Der vorbereitete Track führte am Windachspeicher vorbei zum Konfluenzpunkt. Der Windachspeicher ist jedoch nicht mit Auto passierbar. Kurzerhand ging es zurück auf die zuvor überquerte Landstraße und nach ca. 500 m Richtung Westen über befestigte Feldwege wieder Richtung Konfluenzpunkt. Im Abstand von ca. 950 m zum CP musste das Auto geparkt werden, weil der weiterführende unbefestigte Feldweg durch das Wetter nur schlecht befahrbar war. Nun ging es zu Fuß an einem Nadelbaum-Drilling und einem mindestens 2 Meter hohen Schilfgrasfeld vorbei. Weiter ging es die letzten 600 m zum CP, der in mitten einer Senke einer großen Wiese liegt. Man hörte, dass in einem nahegelegenen Waldstück gerade Holzfällarbeiten durchgeführt wurden. Es war gerade Mittagszeit und recht kühl. Die Alpen waren am Horizont schon gut zu erkennen. Ein Pärchen mit einem Hund kam auf dem Rückweg vorbei.

Schon war dieser Konfluenzpunktbesuch erfolgreich absolviert und weiter ging die Reise zurück auf die A96 und weiter Richtung Süden.

04-Feb-2017 -- On the way to the winter sports at the Allgäu I took the chance to visit the confluence point 48N 11E.

After passing the northern shore of the Ammersee at the Autobahn A96, the GPS showed to take the junction direction Finning. The whole village must be passed through from north to south. After crossing the road LI 23 and 1.3 km further a turn pike prevented the continuation of the journey. The prepared track leads along the little lake “Windachspeicher” to the confluence point. But it is not allowed to pass by this lake. That’s why it goes back to the mentioned road LI 23. After about 500 m on the road direction west we took a paved field road. In the distance of about 950 m to the CP the car must be parked, because of the bad conditions of the further unpaved track. Now the trip continued by feet, along a very impressive triplet conifer, which grows next to a reed field with plants of two meters height. After another 600 meters the confluence point 48N 11E was reached in the middle of a big meadow, exactly at the lowest ground. You could hear logger works from a nearby forest. It was noon and quite cold. The Alps were seen quite clearly at the horizon. On the way back to the car a pair of dog owners passed.

So this confluence visit was finished successfully. The journey leads back to the A96 and further direction Alps.
