05-Oct-2018 -- I visited this confluence twice, once on Oct. 1 as I was headed east for my seminary class reunion, and again on Oct. 5 on my way home. I revisited because (1) I wasn't thrilled with my pictures; (2) a friend told me that there was a geocache there (which I didn't find); and (3) it was about lunchtime, and I knew there was a restaurant there where I could eat almost at a confluence (see picture 8).
The confluence is easy to get to, as it's in the northeast suburbs of Indianapolis. My second visit was a little more exciting as there were strong storms in the vicinity with heavy rain, occasionally making it hard to see as I drove.
My iPhone GPS took me to IN state highway 37, and then to E 146th St. Once on 146th, I could have turned into the restaurant (Jagger's) parking lot, but I chose to continue to Prairie Lakes Boulevard, turning right and then parking in the medical center lot.
The confluence is in a pond in a small wetlands park across from the medical center (and behind Jagger's). Since it was still raining, I decided to eat lunch before venturing out. The rain was still spitting when I was done, but lightly enough that I went ahead with the search.
I use the iPhone app Theodolite (with which I am not affiliated) for GPS, and I used it to take all the photos associate with this visit, except the panoramas.
I was excited to get the coordinates to zero out exactly on the longitude line, so those are the photos I used to document my visit. The phone was reporting 8 m of possible error, but since I moved back and forth while getting it to zero out, I'm optimistic that I really was standing on the line. I didn't have similar success getting the latitude to zero out, but (as mentioned) it was still rainy and I gave up after about a minute of trying to get the right spot. Picture 7 shows as close as I could get.
So, yeah, easy to find, easy to get to, but you can't get to the exact spot without gills or webbed feet. I had fun anyhow.
