28-Nov-2000 -- This is the confluence that I
had planned to visit first, a short time
after I first heard about the Confluence Project, but during three
different trips nearby the site, I never had time to actually get there.
In the meantime another group of people from Oslo made the first visit.
Today, 28 Nov 2000, I had to make a business trip to the area, and
decided to make a quick detour.
I drove about 20 minutes south from Hønefoss, and stopped by a bus stop
about 250-300m from the confluence, grabbed the GPS and camera and ran
through the forest. After a couple of minutes the GPS told me I was very
close, and I suddenly recognized the area from the photos posted by the
first visitors!
A few quick photos, including the obligatory gps shot, and another one
was in the bag.
On the way back to the car, I stumbled across a pile of rocks. Rockheaps
like this are very often the remains of old burial sites.
