30-Jun-2003 -- This confluence of 39N-122W was very easy to get to. Once in College City (second exit going southbound on Interstate 5) go south on Main Street and then east at 11th. This is a dirt road that will take you between fields. You can approach this intersection from the north (.15 miles) or from the east (.1 mile) I approached from the east. The field was fallow and had the remnants of cut grass and every once in while was the top of a dead carrot. This spot lies in the middle of the field.
It would be great fun to give each of your kids a gps with a GOTO programmed for this intersection and make a time lapse video of the paths they take to get there.
Zeroing out the GPS readings was relatively simple given the clear view of all horizons.
Photo 1 looks west. Photo 2 looks east and shows our trusty Eurovan. Photo 3 looks north. Photo 4 looks south. Photo 5 shows my GPS readings at the spot.
You can exit off Interstate 5, delay at this intersection and be back on the interstate in less than 30 minutes which is outstanding considering that some of the confluences I've visited have taken all day to get to and we had many more confluences to attempt on the rest of our trip.
