(visited by Gavin Roy)

14-Jul-2021 -- After visiting 42N, 106W yesterday and a night of free hammock camping along the North Platte River at the former site of the Bixby Road Bridge east of Glenrock, I was on the road by 7am, eventually hitting I-25 south and exiting at Wheatland by 8:30am.

By 8:40am I was parked along Ayers Road where it crosses Rock Creek, a half mile south of the confluence. Looking to get a jog in I ran the half mile almost to the confluence, gingerly traversing the last hundred meters so as not to disturb the growing alfalfa. It was misty and extremely humid, so despite the temperature of 56°F I was sweating like a dog when I zeroed out. I lingered for one minute listening to the agricultural silence before heading back to my car. I was away for a total of 20 minutes.

About two hours later I was back home in Fort Collins, Colorado. Trip totals: 26 hours, 464 miles, 2 confluences, 1 flat tire.
