  39°N 112°W (visit #6)

#1: The confluence point lies near the top of a small hill, in a grove of pine trees. (This is also a view to the North.)

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

24-Jun-2019 -- I had previously visited this point 6 years ago, in May 2013, but decided to revisit it to get a ‘drone’s eye’ view. I’m glad I did this, because the aerial video turned out to be spectacular.

This time I parked at [39.00621,-111.99960] - the ‘optimal’ starting point that I noted in my previous visit. From this starting point - 0.43 miles from the Degree Confluence Point - there’s an easy hike along an old road cut that leads to a creek bed. From there, it’s a short climb up to the top of a hill, where the point is located, among a grove of small pine trees.

The point was just as I remembered it from 2013. (Unfortunately the rock cairn is still there.)

Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
